Hungary: Anti-government protests held for 3rd night
People have gathered outside Hungary's parliament building for a third night of protests against the government's approval of amendments to labor laws.
Police used pepper spray and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators. Trade unions and opponents criticized the legislation as a"slave law" benefiting employers.
Opposition leaders voiced their disapproval of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's Fidesz party that passed the law.
The government-backed proposal raises workers' allowable overtime from 250 to 400 hours a year and relaxes other labor rules in a bid to offset Hungary's growing labor shortage.
Since the passing of the law, the capital Budapest has witnessed scuffles between protesters and police in front of the parliament building.
