Trump government is serving the interests of Israel: Analyst

US President Donald Trump (R) walks with Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem al-Quds in May 2017.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has been lacking support for him, and instead the government is serving and protecting Israel's interests, an American peace activist and political commentator says.

Trump is not in control of his own administration, Mark Glenn said in an interview with Press TV on Thursday.

Glenn noted that Trump, on many occasions, stated that he wanted to end all US involvement in the Syria while Israel is intent upon keeping the conflict going on in the Arab state.

"So we have to leave open the possibility that adverse elements within the US government, that are disloyal to Trump, want to launch a war with neighboring countries," he said.

The numerous resignations and firings of senior White House officials has sound the alarm about Trump's authority, Glen said, adding that the neoconservatives, who are in control of the Trump administration, have dedicated themselves to the “creative destruction of the Middle East”.

The neoconservatives also pursue furtherance of the Israeli empire and a greater Israel through the use of war, he said.

Glen explained that given the turmoil in the Trump administration and the fact that he has very little control over his government, it could be the Neocons who are providing weapons and munitions to Daesh.

He stated either Trump's enemies within the administration or his predecessors in previous governments had provided the weapons and munition found in Daesh hands .
