The Iran men’s national junior handball team has once been held to a draw against Qatar in its second fixture at the main round of the 16th edition of the Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship in Oman.

The Iranian team, which had finished a match against Japan with a 19-19 draw the previous day, could not overcome Qatar at the al-Saada Indoor Hall in the southern Omani port city of Salalah on Saturday afternoon, and settled for a 26-all result.

The 2018 Asian Men's Junior Handball Championship kicked off on July 16, and will close on July 26, 2018.

It acts as the qualification tournament for the 2019 Men's Junior World Handball Championship.

The top three teams from the championship will directly qualify for the Junior World Championship to be held in Spain.
