Iranian triple jumper Kia books ticket for 2018 Youth Olympic Games

Young Iranian sportsman Hamidreza Kia has put in a praiseworthy performance at the 2018 Asian Youth Olympic Qualifying Meet in Thailand, and earned a spot in the forthcoming Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.

On Thursday evening, Kia participated in the triple jump contests in the Thai capital city of Bangkok, and registered 15.68 meters to claim the second spot and receive the silver medal.

The 2018 Asian Youth Olympic Qualifying Meet kicked off on July 4, and wrapped up on July 5, 2018.

Athletics contests at the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be held from October 11 to October 16.

The events will take place at the Parque Polideportivo Roca in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
