Trump administration full of ‘crybabies’: Senator Kaine

US President Donald Trump's attacks on Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau show that his administration is full of “crybabies,” Democratic Senator Tim Kaine says.

"The Trump administration is filled with people with glass jaws who they love to punch people, but if somebody punches back? They just can’t believe it. They’re crybabies,” Kaine told The Washington Post on Tuesday.

“President Trump can name-call everybody all day long. And somebody gets in his face a little bit and they melt into a pool of lukewarm water,” said Kaine, who was the Democratic Party’s vice-presidential nominee in the 2016 election.

He added that “the scuffle over the weekend shows how weak the administration is.”

On Saturday, Trump left the Group of Seven (G7) industrial nations’ summit in Canada early in anticipation of the meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Singapore.

Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said after the G7 summit that it was "kind of insulting" that the United States implemented steel and aluminum tariffs against his country on the basis of national security. Trudeau also promised to slap retaliatory tariffs against Washington and said that Canada "will not be pushed around."

In response, Trump said that the United States would not sign the joint communiqué signed by the other nations at the G7 summit.

"Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communiqué as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!" he tweeted.

Peter Navarro, the White House National Trade Council director, launched personal attacks against Trudeau over his remarks on trade Sunday.

“There is a special place in hell for any leader that engages in bad faith diplomacy with President Donald J. Trump and then tries to stab him in the back on the way out the door and that’s what bad-faith Justin Trudeau did with that stunt press conference, that’s what weak, dishonest Justin Trudeau did,” Navarro said.

Canada’s lower house of parliament unanimously condemns the personal attacks on Prime Minister Justin Trudeau by US President Donald Trump and his advisers.

The lower house of Canada’s parliament on Monday condemned the attacks on Trudeau by Trump and other American officials.

Lawmakers at the House of Commons unanimously adopted a measure backing Canadian steel and aluminum trade policies, as well as the supply management system that supports key agricultural sectors.
