Venezuela's Maduro hails 'historic day' as polls open

Venezuela's Nicolas Maduro hails a "historic day" after he voted in an election expected to hand him a new mandate.

Some 20.5 million people are eligible to vote in a single-round election to choose a president for a six-year term that will begin in January 2019.
