Protesters detained in Armenia as anti-PM rallies continue

Police officers detained protesters in the Armenian capital of Yerevan on Sunday, as opposition rallies continue over the appointment of former President Serzh Sargsyan as the country’s prime minister.

Footage shows police as they detain protesters on the streets of the Armenian capital. Light and noise grenades were also reportedly used.

According to the police, the leader of the opposition movement Armenia’s Civil Contract Nikol Pashinyan was “forcibly removed” from the scene.
