Maksimović appointed Iran national shooting team head coach
The Islamic Republic of Iran Sports Shooting Federation (IRISSF) has named Serbian sports shooter and Olympic Champion Goran Maksimović as the head coach of the Iran men's national shooting team to guide the squad prior to the start of the 2018 Asian Games.
The 54-year-old Serbian finalized an agreement with IRISSF President Ali Dadgar in Tehran on Wednesday afternoon.
There was no immediate information available on the terms of Maksimović’s contract with the federation.
Maksimović snatched a gold medal in the 10-meter air rifle event at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, South Korea.
He competed for Serbia and Montenegro at the 1996 and 2000 Olympics.
The 2018 Asian Games, also known as the 18th edition of Asian Games, is a pan-Asian multi-sport event that is scheduled to be held from August 18 to September 2, 2018 in Indonesia.
