Morocco have qualified for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia after registering a surprising 2-0 away win in Ivory Coast.

Morocco needed only a draw in their last group match to finish atop the standings ahead of the Ivorians who had to win to reach Russia.

Nabil Dirar opened the scoring off a cross-turned-shot in the 25th minute. Medhi Benatia then sealed the deal for his side after a corner on the half-hour mark.

Morocco have now joined Tunisia, Nigeria, Egypt, and Senegal as Africa's five teams at the tournament next year.
