Iranian table tennis players off to India for Youth Olympics qualifiers

Junior Iranian table tennis players have departed for India to participate in the Asian Qualification Event for the 2018 Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Amin Ahmadian and Mahshid Ashtari will represent the Islamic Republic of Iran during the three-day event, which is scheduled to kick off in the western Indian city of Ahmedabad on November 3.

They are under the tutelage of Miaad Makif and Azadeh Sarafraz as head coaches.

The Asian Qualification Event will offer quotas to four top athletes in boys’ and girls’ sections. In other words, the finalists in the two divisions will automatically qualify for the 2018 Youth Olympic Games.

Table tennis competitions at the 2018 Youth Olympics will be held from October 6 to October 18 next year at the Tecnópolis, Buenos Aires.
