Iranian athlete Nima Alamiyan has claimed the men’s singles title at the GAC Group 2015 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) World Tour Belgium Open following a glorious victory over his Romanian rival.

On Saturday, the 22-year-old Iranian sportsman beat Hunor Szocs in five games (11-8, 11-9, 11-7, 11-13. 11-4).

Earlier in the day, Nima paired up with his elder brother, Noshad, in the men's doubles competitions.

The Iranian pair defeated Japan's Mizuki Oikawa and Kohei Sambe by 5-11, 11-6, 8-11, 11-6 and 14-12 to win the ticket for the final, where they blanked Hungarian competitors Nandor Ecseki and Adam Szudi 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 and 11-7 and stood atop the podium.

It is the first time in the history of the ITTF World Tour that brothers have won a men’s doubles title.

Nima and Noshad Alamiyan are also the only brothers to have won ITTF World Tour men’s singles titles.
