UN report on sarin use in Syria drawn up based on US dictates: Analyst

A political analyst says a recent UN report, which blames the Syrian government for an April gas attack in Idlib Province, has been fabricated based on US dictates, and is full of unsubstantiated claims.

The United States has ordered the United Nations to “generate an artificial report using false information in order to achieve a political objective, which was the removal of [Syrian President Bashar] Assad,” Scott Bennett told Press TV on Saturday.

He further said Damascus has been “precisely right” in its denial of the report.

The Assad government, Benett added, has no reason to resort to chemical weapons against civilians while its armed forces have the upper hand on the battlefield and are close to cleansing the country of the Takfiri terrorists, who are supported by the US and inspired by Saudi Wahhabism.

Bennett also said that Syria, Russia, Iran and even the American people are well aware that there is no fact or evidence to support the claims in the report.
