A political analyst says the UN is trying to re-engage the United States as "a large polluter" of the world in a sort of "a global deal" that includes an agreement over the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions.

“The UN is trying to reengage the US in a sort of a global deal of which the climate change is a cornerstone,” Paolo Raffone, the secretary general of the CIPI Foundation from Brussels, told Press TV on Wednesday.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres is adding “pressure" on the administration of US President Donald Trump administration to accept global policy on the climate change, Raffone added.
