Following the decision by athletics’ world governing body, the IAAF to maintain its doping ban on Russian track and field athletes, Russia President Vladimir Putin has called the decision unjust and hasty.

The decision was made on Friday, following a hearing from a Task Force, that doping problems still existed in Russia.

The suspension was first imposed in November after allegations of state-sponsored-doping.

Now, Russia’s hopes of Competing in the Rio Olympics are Dependent on a Decision by the Olympic Chiefs next week.

The International Olympic Committee can give the country special dispensation and allow Russian Athletes to Compete in Rio.
