Iranian soccer players have lifted the trophy at the second edition of World Artists 7-Man Football Match in the Persian Gulf island of Qeshm following a victory over the Romanian side.

On Friday, Romanian sportsmen opened the game played at Qeshm’s Jahan Pahlevan Takhti Stadium and officiated by 64-year-old former Iranian association football referee Mohammad Fanaei in a dominant fashion, and sent a number of passes on Iran’s goalpost.

The Iranian goalkeeper Ebrahim Mirzapour, however, made key saves and prevented the other side from scoring.

Iran’s Mehdi Salehpour finally took advantage of a tremendous opportunity in the 15th minute, and perfectly placed in the corner of Romania’s net to score the sole goal of the game.
