Putin: Turkey’s Downing of jet act of enmity
Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has once again criticized Turkey’s shooting down of a Russian jet fighter over Syria last month.
Putin was speaking at his annual press conference in Moscow. He said he still doesn’t understand why Turkey shot down the warplane. Putin added that it’s almost impossible for Russia to reach common ground with the Turkish leadership. He also spoke of the situation in Syria. Putin noted that only the Syrian people can decide the future of their country. Elsewhere, the Russian president touched on the 2003 Iraq war. Putin said Iraq’s occupation was aimed at plundering the Arab country’s oil reserves. He added that Daesh has been created to exploit the instability in Iraq to pave the way for stealing the country’s oil.
