US government was complicit in 9/11 attacks: Scholar

The September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks in the United States were staged by the CIA, Pentagon and neoconservatives within the US government, an American scholar and retired professor says.

“This was brought to us compliments of the CIA, neocons and the Department of Defense, and the Mossad,” said James Henry Fetzer, cofounder of the Scholars for 9/11 Truth, a group of people of varying backgrounds and expertise who rejected the government account and mainstream media of the September 11 attacks.

“We have a massive amount of evidence that what we have seen, what we have been told about 9/11 is fraudulent and fake and the government was complicit,” Fetzer, told Press TV on Friday from Madison, Wisconsin.

Some analysts have concluded that the alleged hijacked airplanes that can be seen flying into the twin towers in New York City were “sophisticated holograms” and no aircraft actually crashed into the Pentagon and in a field in Pennsylvania, Fetzer said.

It was “physically impossible” for the planes to enter the towers because of their steel and concrete structures, he argued. “Any real plane would have crumbled against the building; its parts, tails, wings, luggage, bodies would have fallen to the ground.”

The September 11 attacks, also known as the 9/11 attacks, were a series of strikes in the US which killed nearly 3,000 people and caused about $10 billion worth of property and infrastructure damage.

US officials assert that the attacks were carried out by al-Qaeda terrorists but many experts have raised questions about the official account.

They believe that rogue elements within the US government orchestrated or at least encouraged the 9/11 attacks in order to accelerate the US war machine and advance the Zionist agenda.
