"Several dozen Boko Haram suspects arrested in Zinder & Niger"
Several dozen people suspected of having links to Nigeria's Boko Haram terrorist group have been arrested in southern Niger.
The governor of the Zinder region says the suspects were citizens of Niger and that they were sent to an anti-terrorist unit in the capital Niamey. Some ten-thousand Nigerians had fled the violence in Nigeria's remote area of Diffa to Zinder, after a series of Boko Haram attacks. The Takfiri group has stepped up attacks in Nigeria and its neighboring countries, including Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Benin in recent months.
