Martyr Ayatollah Khamenei played key role in Axis of Resistance: Caretaker Yemeni PM

Martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei

Caretaker Yemeni Prime Minister Mohammed Ahmed Miftah says martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei played a leading role in the creation and cohesion of the Axis of Resistance.

Miftah made the remarks in Tehran on Saturday on the sidelines of the farewell ceremony for Ayatollah Khamenei.

Miftah praised the late Ayatollah Khamenei as a unique personality and a distinguished figure in contemporary history, besides one of the most influential leaders in the world in recent decades, and the founder of Muslim movements.

The caretaker Yemeni prime minister added, "His support for liberation movements in the region and worldwide was very conspicuous and outstanding, and covered the entire Arab and Muslim world, and elsewhere, including South America."

He stated, "The role of the martyred Leader in the creation and consolidation of the Axis of Resistance was fairly pivotal. Ayatollah Khamenei was actually the founder of the Axis of Resistance, and therefore the true supporter of the alliance."

The caretaker Yemeni resistance further noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran, under late Ayatollah Khamenei's leadership, played a primary role in supporting the Axis of Resistance.

"Yemen is now part of the Axis of Resistance," Miftah said, emphasizing that the coalition is victorious, broad and powerful, and is turning into a key player in international equations.

Farewell ceremonies honoring the martyred Leader began in Tehran early on Saturday. The principal funeral procession in Tehran is set for July 6, with subsequent ceremonies in Qom on July 7.

In response to requests from Iraqi religious scholars, tribal leaders, political figures, and the general public, additional funeral ceremonies will occur in the sacred Iraqi cities of Najaf and Karbala on July 8.

A concluding funeral procession is scheduled for the holy city of Mashhad on July 9, after which Ayatollah Khamenei will be interred at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS).

The ceremonies will also pay tribute to four members of Ayatollah Khamenei's family who were martyred alongside him during the US-Israeli attack: Dr. Mesbah al-Hoda, the Leader's son-in-law; Seyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, his daughter; Zahra Haddad Adel, his daughter-in-law; and Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani, his granddaughter.
