The forgotten Rafah: Two years on

It’s been two years since Israel invaded Gaza's southern city Rafah.

The city is considered Gaza’s vital gateway to the outside world, but its very existence has been altered under sustained Israeli attacks. While already seizing more than 58% of the Gaza Strip in violation of the "ceasefire" in place, Israel's control of Rafah remains an exceptionally-suffocating one for Palestinians, controlling both their land and their lung to the outside world.

Beyond the Israeli military lines and the flattened neighborhoods, the human cost of the occupation of Rafah continues to deepen for Palestinians.
