The head of the Russian parliament's defense committee has stressed that no country can defeat the resilient people of Iran, as nearly one-third of the nation has registered to sacrifice their lives for the country.
"No one can defeat such a people; neither the Americans nor the Israelis, no country will be able to defeat this country,” Andrei Kartapolov, head of the State Duma Defense Committee, told reporters in Moscow on Friday.
He noted that the Iranian people have united in the face of the “completely unjustified” US-Israeli aggression, despite any internal economic or social problems.
“The fact that today more than 30 million Iranian men and women are ready to put on combat uniforms and take up arms speaks for itself; no one can defeat such a people,” Kartapolov said.
More than 30 million Iranians — and counting — including the country’s top officials, have registered in a campaign to sacrifice their lives in the imposed war.
Kartapolov also condemned as “brutal” the US-Israeli aggression, referring to its targeting of civilian facilities, including an elementary school in Minab, where 170 children and teachers were killed.

“The blood of the children of Minab is on the hands of the US president and the Israeli prime minister, and they will never be able to wipe that blood away,” the parliamentarian stressed.
He also emphasized Iran’s right to defend itself against aggression.
"We believe that the Iranian people are fighting with complete honor to preserve the freedom and independence of their country; it is the right of the Iranian people to pursue their own life path in whatever way they decide, and not those from outside this country."
Commenting on stalled negotiations between Iran and the US, Kartapolov noted that the outcome of the talks hinges on “the constructiveness of the Americans’ positions.
“As we know, the negotiations were previously suspended because Washington’s position was completely unacceptable to the Iranian leadership.”
Noting that diplomacy requires making concessions, Kartapolov said, "If the Americans adjust their approach towards Iran appropriately, the second round of talks will be truly promising."

He emphasized that Iran’s position is based on “the protection of fundamental principles that safeguard the existence and security of the country.”
On April 11–12, Pakistan hosted talks between the US and Iran after brokering a temporary ceasefire on April 8.
The high-level talks ended without an agreement, amid Washington's maximalist demands and its refusal to back down from its unreasonable stances.
