IRGC says 3 terrorist ringleaders killed in strike on Iraq’s Kurdistan region

The IRGC says its attacks on terrorist hideouts in Iraq’s Kurdistan killed three notorious anti-Iran figures.

The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says it has carried out an attack on terrorist hideouts in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, killing and wounding a number of notorious anti-Iran figures.

IRGC’s Hamzeh Seyed al-Shohada headquarters, which is responsible for overseeing Iran’s western border with Iraq and Turkey, said in a Saturday statement that it had used drones to target separatist terrorists in Balisan valley, located to the northeast of the city of Erbil.

The statement said three notorious terrorist ringleaders in the region were killed in the attack and five others were wounded.

The IRGC said the terrorists killed in the attack had been responsible for assassinating a senior Iranian border police officer in 2017.

The force said operations will continue to identify other terrorists responsible for the assassination.

Iran has been tough on any terrorist activity in neighboring Kurdistan, with the IRGC and the Iranian army carrying out occasional attacks to target their hideouts in the region.

Iran has repeatedly warned authorities in Kurdistan as well as officials in Iraq that the country will not tolerate any terrorism-related activity in its neighboring territory.

Kurdish terrorist groups have been responsible for several attacks targeting Iranian border guards in recent years.

The groups have openly declared they receive support from the United States and the Israeli regime.

The US and Israel have also voiced their support for the terrorists, especially in the early days of a joint US-Israeli aggression on Iran which began in late February.
