Iran ready for ‘any scenario’ amid fragile ceasefire with US: Report

Iranians rally for the 41st consecutive night in a central square in Tehran on Wednesday to support the country's armed forces in the fight against the US-Israeli war of terrorism.

Iran is prepared for “any possible scenario” played out by the United States, according to a report, stressing that Washington cannot be safe from Israel’s “savagery” in the region.

The unnamed source, cited by Tasnim news agency, said Thursday that the Islamic Republic has so far demonstrated that it firmly remains committed, as always, to its agreements and commitments.

“However, Tehran closely watches all possible scenarios for the future and will act in proportion to the time and atmosphere of relations,” the source stressed.

His remarks came a day after a tentative two-week ceasefire, brokered by Pakistan, went into force between Tehran and Washington to pave the way for negotiations, the first round of which is expected to be held in Islamabad on Saturday.

A simple scenario would be that the US and its accomplices, while remaining committed to the ceasefire, adhere to an agreement which is agreed by both Iran and the resistance in the region within a feasible time frame, the source said, adding that apart from this, there are other scenarios.

According to the source, a scenario likely pursued by Washington is that, through obstruction, it eliminates the possibility of reaching an agreement which secures rights for Iran and the resistance on the one hand and by escaping from the war, keeps Israel in war with Iran and Lebanon or just with Lebanon on the other hand.

“The US in no way can escape from the consequences of a ceasefire that ends without results favored by Iran and the resistance,” the source said.

“Therefore, if the temporary ceasefire terminates due to violations by the other party (the US and Israel) or because Iran and the resistance cannot reach a favorable agreement in an acceptable time frame for us, the US’s interests across the region will surely be set to fire just like the pre-ceasefire days.”

The source added that it is quite clear what course of action the enemy should follow, stressing that the enemy must “agree to an agreement favored by Iran and the resistance, otherwise, the US and Israel will go under fire again.”

Since the US and Israel launched their illegal war on Iran, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has launched over 100 waves of missile and drone operations against key US and Israeli targets.

The retaliatory attacks, carried out as part of Operation True Promise 4, forced hundreds of US troops out of the region and inflicted billions of dollars in damage to US assets in the Persian Gulf countries.

Resistance movements in Lebanon and Yemen have also conducted strikes against the enemies in solidarity with Iran.
