Hezbollah says Lebanon on verge of historic victory

The Hezbollah resistance movement says Lebanon is on the verge of a major historic victory, thanks to the supreme sacrifices made by resistance fighters and infinite patience and resilience shown by the nation.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the group urged Lebanese people to be more patient, steadfast and expectant, and not to return to their residences in southern Lebanon, the Bekaa Valley and the Dahiyeh suburbs in southern Beirut until a comprehensive ceasefire officially comes into effect.

"This is because the treacherous and savage (Zionist) enemy, which is seeking to escape from a humiliating defeat, may attempt to create a false image and project as if it has made an achievement - something which it never managed to attain in direct confrontation," the statement read.

"God willing, you (Lebanese people) will return to your villages and homes honorably, gloriously, dearly and triumphantly."

Meanwhile, a senior Hezbollah official said Israel is seeking to undermine the ceasefire in the war of aggression against Iran following its abject failure to attain its declared objectives.

He said the Lebanese resistance group will not stand idle in the face of any further Israeli acts of aggression.

The Hezbollah official said the resistance movement is awaiting the outcome of forthcoming indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington, and will adopt proper measures on the basis of the talks.

After a temporary ceasefire was announced in the US-Israeli aggression against Iran, the Israeli regime launched its deadliest airstrikes against Lebanon since the war began, killing at least 300 people.
