At least one person has been killed in two separate attacks conducted by the United States and the Israeli regime on Bushehr Provincial Meteorological Office in southern Iran.

The head of the Bushehr Airport Meteorological Office, Yousef Sobhani-Nasab, was martyred while on duty when the strikes happened early Monday, Tasnim news agency reported.

It added that the building of Bushehr Bureau of Meteorology, which is located in a non-military area in the central part of the provincial capital of Bushehr, was hit on World Meteorological Day (March 23).

Director General of Bushehr Bureau of Meteorology Payam Mosaedi told Tasnim that the US-Israel attack came as the employees were engaging in providing specialized meteorological services.

He condemned the attacks against the service provider and scientific complex and said, “This move once again exposed the hostile nature of the enemies of the Iranian nation.”

The US and Israel started a fresh round of unlawful military aggression on Iran on February 28, some eight months after they carried out unprovoked attacks on the country.

Iran has also carried out extensive retaliatory attacks, with missiles and drones successfully hitting targets in the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US military assets in regional countries.

On Sunday, Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society Pir-Hossein Kolivand said that a total of 81,365 civilian units, including medical centers, schools and ambulances, have been damaged in the US-Israel aerial attacks which constitutes a gross violation of international humanitarian regulations and the Geneva Convention.

He added that 61,555 homes and 19,050 commercial units in various provinces have been damaged in the attacks.

In Tehran province, he noted, the raids have affected 24,605 residential and commercial units, 275 pharmaceutical, health and emergency centers, 498 schools and 17 Red Crescent centers, and 3 helicopters.

Iran’s Minister of Health Mohammad-Reza Zafarqandi also said on Sunday that at least 210 children have lost their lives while at least 1,500 children have been injured in US-Israeli attacks across the country so far, noting that the impact of the aggression extends far beyond the battlefield, affecting civilians, especially women and children, who are caught in the crossfire.
