Lebanon's Hezbollah resistance movement is engaged in intense fighting with Israeli forces on the Lebanese border with the occupied territories amid Tel Aviv's ongoing violations of the country's sovereignty.
The confrontation was reported on Tuesday as sustained shooting could be heard ringing out throughout footage recorded at the scene.
In a statement, the movement announced targeting another advanced Israeli Merkava tank invading the Tayyibah area of the Baalbek region.
The strike used a "guided missile," taking to five the number of such tanks targeted by Hezbollah's fighters over the past three days.
The movement recently began decisively confronting the invaders, officially announcing an end to its drawn-out period of self-restraint in the face of the Israeli regime's incessant violations of a November 2024 ceasefire deal.
The agreement was signed to supposedly end Tel Aviv's intensified deadly escalation against Lebanon that had cost thousands of lives, including that of Hezbollah's former revered secretary general Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.
In his most recent address, Nasrallah's successor Sheikh Naim Qassem issued a strong warning to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who had previously threatened to assassinate him.
“Your threat to assassinate me has no taste and no value. You are the one who should fear for yourself," Sheikh Qassem said during an address on Friday, marking International Quds Day.
The Hezbollah leader also reiterated the group's unyielding stance of considering resistance to be the only applicable course of action in the face of the regime in light of Tel Aviv's unchanging aggressive attitude towards Lebanon.
