Iran's armed forces have issued a warning that any aggression against the strategic Kharg Island oil terminal will be met with the complete destruction of oil and gas facilities in the country from which the attack originates.
Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesman for the Iranian Armed Forces, delivered the message in response to recent US threats against the oil export hub.
Speaking on Monday, General Shekarchi addressed recent statements by American officials and military commanders who have repeatedly spoken of attacking Kharg Island.
"If America commits any aggression or attack on Kharg Island and its oil facilities and terminals, Iran's response will be decisive and powerful. In such circumstances, all the oil and gas facilities of the country from where the attack on Kharg Island was carried out will be attacked by the Iranian Armed Forces".
The spokesman emphasized that Iran's military has proven its word and that wherever it has issued warnings, it has followed through with action.
"There are no red lines when it comes to defending the interests of the Iranian nation," he declared.
"Any country that wishes to be the origin of America's aggression against Kharg Island must know that if such an action occurs, it will lose its oil and gas facilities in the face of Iran's response and will face its ashes."
Kharg Island is a small rocky outpost approximately 15 nautical miles off Iran's coast that serves as Iran’s primary oil export terminal.
The island handles approximately 90-95 percent of Iran's crude exports, with around 1.7 million barrels per day passing through its facilities last year.
On Friday, US Central Command (CENTCOM) claimed it had successfully struck scores of Iranian military targets on Kharg Island.
President Donald Trump subsequently warned that he had "obliterated" military targets on the island but had "chosen not to destroy the oil infrastructure" for what he termed "decency reasons".
However, he threatened to immediately reconsider this decision should Iran or any party interfere with shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
Iranian officials have confirmed that while military facilities and the airport on Kharg sustained damage, there were no casualties, and commercial operations, including oil exports, continue normally.
General Shekarchi's warning follows similar statements from other Iranian officials regarding the use of regional territory for attacks on Iran.
Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi recently stated that Friday's US strikes on Kharq island originated from two locations in the United Arab Emirates: Ras Al-Khaimah and an area near Dubai.
He cautioned that using densely populated regions to launch attacks on Iran is "highly dangerous".
The IRGC has warned that US interests in the UAE, including ports, docks, and military sites, have become "legitimate targets" following American strikes on Iranian territory, urging civilians to avoid such locations.
