Chairman of Iran's Expediency Council, Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani said the appointment had come at a critical moment following the martyrdom of Ayatollah Khamenei.

He described the decision by the Assembly of Experts as timely and decisive, saying it helped ease the emotional pain of the Iranian people and ensured continuity in the country’s leadership.
