Hampering Gaza aid delivery
More than two weeks into the Gaza ceasefire, Israel still blocks the entry of tents into Gaza. The regime also continues to hamper the delivery of other essentials into the Palestinians territory. Many people in Gaza say they are trapped by suffering of displacement, shortage and inability to return home.
Israel Lebanon strikes
The Israeli regime has yet again launched a string of deadly strikes on Lebanon in blatant violation of its ceasefire agreement with the Arab country. The regime’s latest attack targeted a car in Naqoura in Tyre province, south of Lebanon, killing one person. A second strike on a car in the village of Nabi Sheet left another person dead, in the country's eastern Baalbek region. Israeli media claimed the occupation’s forces targeted a senior Hezbollah commander in their raid on the east of the arab country. Meanwhile, Lebanese health ministry said one person was wounded after war remnants exploded in the town of Aitaroun, in the south. Israel has intensified strikes in recent weeks, with several deadly attacks launched over the past days.
US Caribbean deployment
A US Navy Destroyer and a contingent of Marines have arrived in Trinidad Island near Venezuela as tensions in the Caribbean continue to escalate. They will be carrying out joint drills with local forces until the 30th of October and just a few miles from Venezuela’s coast. Since September, the United States has conducted multiple airstrikes on boats it alleges are involved in drug trafficking, killing at least 43 people in international waters near Venezuela. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has condemned the US for what he calls fabricating a false narrative linking his country to drug trafficking. He said the US is making up excuses to start ‘an eternal war.’ Washington recently announced plans to deploy a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier and its strike group to Latin America.
