Iranian wrestlers showcased their dominance at the U23 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships on Tuesday, capturing two gold medals in the opening four weight categories.
In the 87kg division, Gholamreza Farrokhi powered through the competition with a flawless run, capping his campaign with a commanding 10–0 victory over Ukraine’s Ivan Chymyr in the final.
Iran’s second gold came in the 130kg heavyweight class, where Fardin Hedayati proved equally unstoppable.
He sealed the title with an emphatic 8–0 win against Armenia’s Razmik Kordian in the championship bout.
The double triumph reinforces Iran’s reputation as a global powerhouse in Greco-Roman wrestling, a discipline in which the country has consistently excelled on the world stage.
