US President Donald Trump has promised, ahead of a meeting with the Israeli regime's prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, that "something special" is coming to West Asia.
Trump, who has expressed his desire to see the Israeli regime forces' genocidal war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip end, promised on Sunday that "something special" is soon to be expected in the region.
“We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST,” Trump wrote on social media. “ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!! President DJT.”
Trump has voiced optimism about ending the Gaza war before, saying they were “very close” to a peace deal.
However, Netanyahu has repeatedly pointed out that he aims to continue the genocidal war against Gaza until the Palestinian Hamas resistance movement running the region is totally annihilated.
Meanwhile, the Trump administration has proposed a 21-point plan aimed at ending the Gaza war and shaping the region’s future.
The proposal, which includes a ceasefire, the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas and a roadmap for Gaza, is expected to be discussed with Netanyahu at the White House on Monday.
Netanyahu has not said whether he has accepted the plan. “We’re working on it,” he said. “It’s not been finalized yet.”
Hamas said on Sunday that it had not received any new proposals for a ceasefire. In a statement, it reiterated “readiness to examine any proposals it receives from its mediator brothers in a positive and responsible manner, while upholding the national rights of our people.”
