May 26th marks the 117th anniversary of a groundbreaking discovery in the southwest of Iran that set the country and West Asia on a path to becoming global energy powerhouses.
The discovery of oil in Masjed Soleyman in 1908 laid the foundation for the entire region’s petroleum industry.
