Pakistan says at least 26 civilians have been killed and dozens more injured as cross-border shelling intensifies along the Line of Control between the country and India.

The exchange of fire erupted following Indian missile strikes targeting areas inside Pakistan-administered Kashmir. In response, Pakistan has authorized its armed forces to take corresponding action, raising fears of a wider regional conflict.
