The US warplanes have launched deadly attacks on the Yemeni capital of Sana’a, targeting a crowded market and a residential neighborhood amid Washington’s mounting aggression against the Arab country’s civilian infrastructure.
Yusef Mawry, Press TV’s correspondent in Sana’a, said the US strikes targeted civilians in the residential area of the capital at dawn on Tuesday and “left many casualties,” citing eye witnesses as stating, “Women and children were among the dead.”
“They targeted us in our homes. They targeted children and civilians. There are no military personnel here or anything of that nature. The entire neighborhood is lost,” a witness said. “We praise God in all cases; these attacks will not deter us.”
Another resident, whose house was destroyed by the US onslaught, told Press TV’s correspondent, “All of this damage is for Gaza. We are willing to sacrifice ourselves, our children and everything for al-Quds; we will never bow down to their aggression.”
Mawry said the latest attack comes as the US air raids continue to strike Yemen’s residential compounds, roads, water facilities and even graveyards, which is a “clear indication of Washington’s failure to achieve any of its military objectives.”
Yemen's official Saba Net news agency cited a security source as saying on Tuesday that “US aggression aircraft targeted the capital, Sana'a, with three airstrikes,” adding, “US aggression aircraft targeted the Brash area in the Sanhan district of Sana'a Province.”
The news agency underlined that the US onslaught occurred less than 24 hours after the al-Mahjar area in the village of Harub in the al-Hisn district of Khawlan, Sana'a Province, had been struck.
Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesperson for Yemen’s military, announced on Monday that Yemeni forces had carried out a series of reprisal strikes against vitals targets deep inside the Israeli-occupied territories as well as US warships in the northern Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
Saree stressed that the retaliatory operations came in solidarity with the Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip amid the unrelenting Israeli genocidal war on the territory.
Yemenis have been hitting Israeli and American targets in support of Palestinians in Gaza since the regime launched its devastating war on Gaza on October 7, 2023, and in response to the American-British aggression on their homeland.
The operations have effectively shut down the Eilat port south of the occupied territories, causing significant economic setbacks for the Israelis.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have said they will not stop their attacks until Israel’s ground and aerial offensives in Gaza end.
