Britain decides: The election aftermath

After a snap election, millions of Brits went to the polls to elect the 650 parliamentarians who would make up the country’s new body of lawmakers.

The votes are in, and Downing Street has a new occupant. Enter Sir Keir Starmer, whose Labor party blew a red wind across vast swathes of the country.

Despite the staggering mandate, Starmer has a bulging in-tray to address: a stuttering economy, political discord, a disjointed foreign policy and millions who feel his idea of a Labor party is only a thinly disguised version of the Tories- now destined to languish in the political wilderness for at least one term.

What now for the pro-Palestinian voice in the midst of a Labor party steeped in support for America’s pet project in the Middle East?
