Israel on the ropes

The International Court of Justice has ordered Israel to halt its offensive in Rafah in southern Gaza.

South Africa accused the Israeli regime of carrying out genocide against Palestinians saying the assault on Rafah was the last step in Israel's destruction of the Palestinian people.

EU foreign policy chief Josep Borell calls on Israel “not to threaten” judges of the ICC, whose chief prosecutor has sought an arrest warrant for Netanyahu and his minister of military affairs.

In a show of respect, the United Nations General Assembly held a moment of silence for Iranian president Ebrahim Raeisi, who was killed in a helicopter crash last week along with the country's foreign minister and six others.

The tribute came as Raeisi was laid to rest at the nation's holiest shrine in his hometown Mashhad. He is the first top government official to be buried there since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of the 1.5 million displaced Palestinians living in Rafah have been forced to move once again since the Israeli occupation force intensified its assault on the city.
