WHO aid delivery issue

The WHO complains that Israel’s blocking aid delivery to Palestinians has negatively affected the organization’s missions in the Gaza Strip. Peeperkorn added Israel has denied several requests to distribute medical aid to Gaza, which has limited WHO’s ability to provide aid for the Gazans in need. He said the health system in Gaza is completely overburdened and under-capacitated. Peeperkorn also warned about a looming Israeli invasion of Rafah, saying such an incident would result in an unfathomable catastrophe.

Gaza ceasefire talks

In the Egyptian capital Cairo negotiations are underway to bring more than four months of the US-Israeli genocide in Gaza to a halt. The Palestinian resistance movement, Hamas says it has sent a delegation to Cairo to meet with Egyptian and Qatari mediators. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also arrived in Cairo for talks with President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. The heads of Israel’s spy agencies, Mossad and Shin Bet, sat down with US, Egyptian and Qatari representatives on Tuesday to secure a ceasefire deal. No significant breakthrough has been achieved in negotiations that are said to take another three days. Israeli media has revealed that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is opposed to a proposal put forward by spy chiefs on a deal. Hamas has accused Netanyahu of trying to buy time to pursue his own agenda while proposing a ceasefire. Hamas wants a full halt to Israeli strikes, troop withdrawal and prisoner swap among other conditions.

Israel Lebanon attack

Israeli warplanes have struck several villages in southern Lebanon, killing 4 civilians and injuring 9 others. A mother and her two children are among the civilian casualties. Israeli shelling has also targeted other areas in southern Lebanon. Earlier in the day, Lebanese Resistance movement Hezbollah had carried out a missile attack against an Israeli command center in the northern occupied Palestinian territories. Hezbollah chief Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah vowed on Tuesday that the resistance movement’s attacks will end only when Israel halts its war on Gaza. Hezbollah has been exchanging fire with Israel since the beginning of the regime’s genocidal war on Gaza.
