'100 days and 75 years of slaughter': Netizens react on Gaza war's 100th day

By Press TV Website Staff

Sunday marks the 100th day of the genocidal war the Israeli regime launched on the besieged Gaza Strip on October 7, which has so far claimed the lives of more than 23,000 Palestinians.

Unprecedented in terms of the scale and magnitude of Zionist aggression, the majority of victims are children and women. Thousands of others are trapped under the rubble and presumed dead.

These 100 days have brought unspeakable suffering to the people of Gaza - murdering entire families, destroying homes, hospitals and schools, and rendering people homeless in the harsh cold.

Calls for the ceasefire have been growing louder but the apartheid regime in Tel Aviv remains unfazed.

Social media was abuzz on Sunday as the Israeli war entered its 100th day, with netizens pointing to the gravity of the tragedy and calling for the prosecution of the child-murdering regime.

Some of the social media posts regarding the 100 days of the war that continues to simmer.

"The longer the Israel-Gaza war continues, the more likely we are to see the complete devastation of Gaza's journalist corps. After 100 days of fighting, Israel's long-standing record of impunity in journalist killings must face public scrutiny by allowing international media and international investigators uncensored access to Gaza. The killings of journalists by the Israeli army must stop now."

Sherif Mansour,
MENA Program Coordinator, Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ)

"The massive death, destruction, displacement, hunger, loss and grief of the last 100 days are staining our shared humanity. An entire generation of children in Gaza are traumatized, diseases are spreading and the clock is ticking fast towards famine.”

Philippe Lazzarini

“100 days of slaughter, carnage and deliberate destruction in Gaza, and the US administration still supports Israel’s genocide. But the people speak.”

Hanan Ashrawi
Political leader and activist, Palestine

"100 days of international inaction. 100 days of double standards. 100 days of Israel’s genocidal aggression. 23,000 innocent people killed including 10,000 children. Thousands more under the rubble. Nearly 2 million people displaced, starved and still being bombed. 70% of Gaza’s housing stock destroyed. Gaza’s civilian infrastructure -- hospitals, offices, sewage treatment plants, churches, mosques, bakeries, agricultural land – all gone. You still wondering whether this is a #genocide or not? You still wondering if Israel violated international law? One of humanity's lowest points ever."

Husam Zomlot
Palestinian ambassador, UK

"100 days of slaughter - the South African government presents an airtight case to the Hauge - The US doesn’t cover it - only covers Israelis gaslighting defense - If you haven’t spoken out for Palestinians yet - now is the only time that matters - No one will forget - No one can plead ignorance. Act."

John Cusack

"It’s been 100 days and 75 years of slaughter. Gaza has taught me that a lot of people who claim to be human rights activists are only active when it applies to people of a specific background or ethnicity. Gaza will haunt you forever."

Mohamad Safa

“In the last 100 days, Israel has killed 10,000 children in Gaza. Ten Thousand Children. Children. Ten Thousand of them. Exterminated.”

“For 100 days Israel has systematically killed and maimed and wounded over 100,000 Palestinians as the world watches. Gaza City - the largest Palestinian city - has been destroyed by Israel. Israel has attacked Palestinian hospitals, universities and schools. Israel is now starving Palestinians too. No one is safe. No place is safe. And that is precisely what Israel wants.”

Diana Buttu

“There is no way back for anyone who uttered a single word of support for the genocide in Gaza over the past 100 days. Ever. Genocide and the mass murder of children have to be a redline. If we allow it to be crossed we lose our humanity with it. No way back for any of them. Ever.”
