Jan. 9: ‘Axis of Resistance’ operations against Israeli occupation

Resistance groups in Palestine and across the region continue their operations against Israel and its Western backers amid the regime's genocidal war on the Gaza Strip, which has claimed the lives of more than 23,000 Palestinians, mostly children and women.

The operations carried out by the Palestinian and regional resistance groups on Tuesday, January 9, are as follows:

Qassam Brigades' operations on Jan. 9:

  • Sniped 4 Israeli soldiers with a Qassam “Ghoul” rifle east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.
  • Destroyed a Merkava tank with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell and set it on fire south of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
  • Target an infantry force with a “Ra'adiya” anti-personnel device, causing deaths and injuries in the Bani Suhaila area, east of Khan Yunis.
  • Targeted soldiers and vehicles penetrating south of Khan Yunis with mortar shells.
  • Targeted a Merkava tank with an “Al-Yassin 105” shell south of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.
  • Targeted an infantry force with machine guns, causing deaths and injuries, as well as a Humvee that arrived to rescue the force (with an RBG shell), causing direct hits south of Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
  • Al-Qassam Mujahideen were able to clash with a Zionist foot force with machine guns near the Kuwait Junction, south of the Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.
  • Targeted, together with the Mujahideen Brigades, a gathering of forces south of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City with mortar shells.
  • Targeted an infantry force with machine guns, killing and wounding its members near Al-Sika Street, south of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.
  • Seized a Skylark reconnaissance drone that was on an intelligence mission east of Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City.

  • "During the last week, Al-Qassam fighters successfully destroyed 42 military vehicles, either completely or partially.
  • Our fighters confirmed the elimination of 22 zionist soldiers at point-blank range, in addition to inflicting dozens of deaths and injuries in 52 different military operations.
  • These operations targeted the invading zionist forces with anti-fortification shells and explosive devices, as well as machine guns and sniper weapons. Additionally, a house was blown up, 4 tunnel entrances and a minefield were detonated, and a surface-to-air missile was launched at a helicopter in the sky of the Strip.
  • Our fighters downed a "Hermes 900 " reconnaissance aircraft and seized a "Skylark" drone, as well as two other drones.
  • They bombarded field command centers and military gatherings with mortar shells and short-range missiles across all combat axes, and directed a heavy barrage of rockets towards "Tel Aviv" and its surrounding areas."

Hezbollah's operations on Jan. 9:

Eastern sector:

  • At around 9:35 local time, Al-Baghdadi’s location was targeted with a missile.
  • At around 9:40 local time, the Yiftah Barracks was targeted with a missile.
  • At around 15:00 local time, the Ruwaisat Al-Qarn site was targeted with a missile.
  • At around 15:40 local time, the Bayad Blida site was targeted.

Western sector:

  • At around 9:30 local time, the Al-Malikiyah site was targeted.
  • (Time unknown), the northern region command headquarters of the Israeli army in the occupied city of Safed (Dado base) was targeted as part of a response to the assassination of the great martyr leader Sheikh Saleh Al-Arouri and his fellow martyred, and the assassination of the martyr leader Wissam Tawil (Hajj Jawad).
  • At around 13:00 local time, the Hanita site was targeted with appropriate weapons and was directly hit.
  • At around 14:20 local time, Israeli soldiers in the vicinity of the Adamit Barracks were targeted with missiles.
