The Israeli regime presses ahead with its unabated onslaught on the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp amid fierce confrontations with Palestinian resistance groups.

The occupation forces assaulted several neighborhoods in Jenin by air and land on Monday as the Palestinian death toll from the latest wave of Israeli aggression has topped 10 since it began in the early hours of the day.

Palestinian media said the Israeli warplanes bombed a neighborhood near Abdullah Azzam Mosque in the Jenin refugee camp, with plumes of smoke rising into the sky from the site.

Palestine's Shehab news agency reported that the occupation forces fired gas bombs at the hospital in Jenin, which was retaliated by Palestinians hurling handmade explosives at Israeli military vehicles in front of the medical facility.

Palestine's official Wafa news agency confirmed reports of clashes and said violent confrontations broke out in the vicinity of Jenin Hospital, during which the Israeli troops fired live bullets and teargas canisters.

The news agency added that sounds of explosions were heard echoing across the refugee camp.

The Palestinian Information Center (Palinfo) shared a video clip showing an Israeli bulldozer that hits the wall of the government hospital in Jenin and tries to run over Palestinian youths.

In response to the Israeli aggression, the Jenin Brigade, which includes members of the Palestinian resistance groups in the occupied West Bank city, said it had ambushed the occupation forces and detonated a military vehicle with explosive devices.

The armed group said it is still engaged in clashes in several areas of the city of Jenin and its camp.

The al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement, which is affiliated with the Jenin Brigade, said in a statement that it had carried out a number of strikes against the ranks of the occupation forces since the early morning.

"Our fighters were able to detonate a number of bombs… and they were detonated in an armored jeep this morning," the al-Quds Brigades added.

Palestine’s Ministry of Health announced on Monday that 10 Palestinians were fatally shot by the Israeli occupation forces in Jenin, adding that at least 50 others sustained injuries.
