Spain snap election

Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, has called a snap election for July 23.That’s after his left-wing coalition government suffered heavy losses in regional ballots.

It is highly unusual for a Spanish government to call a snap ballot after a poor performance in a regional vote. Sanchez has now opted to take a very risky decision. He has placed the onus back on voters who will decide to consolidate the result of the local and regional elections to mobilize to prevent a victory for the right.
