The spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry has praised strong bonds among resistance groups in the West Asia region, stating that the Axis of Resistance has never been more united and stronger than it is today.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always firmly supported Palestine as the most strategic issue of the Muslim world,” Nasser Kan’ani wrote in a tweet published on his Twitter page on Friday.

“Iran has prevented the world's arrogant powers from sidelining the Palestinian issue from international priorities,” he said.

The Palestinians, he said, remain oppressed but powerful and able to defend themselves.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi held separate meetings with the leaders and commanders of the Palestinian resistance groups as well as Palestinian intellectuals on the second day of his visit to Damascus on Thursday.

Describing Palestine and efforts for the liberation of al-Quds as the Muslim world’s overriding issue, Raeisi said resistance has proved as the only way to confront Israel and pursue the Muslim world’s goals.

The Iranian president also touched on the waning power of the United States and Israel, stressing that the collapse of the occupying regime is very imminent, the signs of which are evident.

Emphasizing the need for unity and solidarity among resistance forces and Muslims in order to expedite the defeat of Israel and the liberation of al-Quds, Raeisi said initiatives are now taken by Palestinian fighters in the field, not defined at the negotiation table.
