Iranian customs figures show exports to Oman rose by more than a half to $1.087 billion.

Iranian customs office (IRICA) figures show exports from the country to Oman rose by more than a half in the calendar year to late March.

IRICA figures published on Tuesday showed that Iran had exported $1.087 billion worth of goods to Oman in the calendar year to March 20, up 52% from the previous year.

Shipments to Oman also rose in volume terms to 3.342 million metric tons (mt), according to the same figures.

Iran’s imports from Oman rose by 29% from the year to March 2022 to reach $800 million, showed the figures which also indicated that Oman had supplied more than 942 million mt of goods and commodities to Iran over the past calendar year.

Iran has sought to expand its trade ties with neighboring countries, especially with Arab states of the Persian Gulf region, amid government plans to diversify the Iranian economy away from crude export revenues.
