A first half goal from Michy Batshuayi has handed Belgium a hard-fought 1-0 win over Canada in their World Cup opener in Group F.
The Plucky Canadians had the chance to take the lead in the 13th minute from the penalty spot but Thibaut Courtois denied them with a low dive. And just 2 minutes before half time Belgium punished them through Batshuayi.
He latched onto a long ball by Toby Alderweireld and slotted his shot into the bottom corner to win the match for his side.
