In his first speech as British Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak used the occasion to issue a call for unity. Sunak must find a way to quickly unite not just a bitterly divided Conservative Party but also a troubled nation. However, he also issued warns of difficult times ahead.

The Prime Minister has inherited a country in crisis. Energy prices are high, cost of living through the roof and millions of Brits are expected to struggle this winter.

Another worry are for Sunak, Conservative Party popularity has plummeted in recent months sitting approximately 30 points behind opposition Labour Party.

Sunak's supporters say he's economically experienced from his days as Chancellor and praised Sunak as Britain's youngest leader in 200 years and the first ever non-white leader. But his critics claim that's just not enough.

Many challenges lie ahead for the new PM, particularly finding a way through the economic crisis. Even if Sunak finds a way to handle Britain's economic woes, questions over his ability to win an election will remain.
