Iran wins medals at U23 World Wrestling C'ships

Iran’s free-style team have finished the Under-23-World Wrestling Championships in 2nd place, with 4 gold medals and one silver.

Team Iran, had a gold and a silver from the first 5-weight categories, and there were 5 more gold medals up for grabs on the final day, with the Iranian youngsters winning 3 of them.

Mohammad-Sadegh Firouzpour defeated an Azeri opponent 5-2 to win the gold in the 74kg class.

In the 92kg, his elder brother Amir-Hossein, dominated Jacob Cardenas of the USA by technical fall to bag another gold.

And in the 125kg Final, Amir-Reza Masoumi followed suit with the day’s 3rd gold medal, after dismantling his Georgian opponent by technical Superiority.

In the Teams Table, which was surprisingly won by Georgia with 141 points, Iran finished 2nd with 134, while the US managed to come in 3rd with 112.
