First, the announcement by Yemen's Ansarullah movement, that the truce with the Saudi-led coalition had reached a dead end. Meanwhile, the US thanked Saudi Arabia for extending the truce, not knowing the Yemeni govt. had refused to go ahead with a truce that did not progress to any meaningful results.
In this edition of the Spotlight, we will look at why there wasn’t any progress in these talks, was it due to the Saudi’s economic stranglehold like on Aden, or were the Saudis and their backers just buying time.
