No announcement yet on the exact number of casualties and the extent of damage the anti-Iran terrorist groups have suffered.

‘Yemen blockade equals torture’

A prominent international rights group has criticized the naval blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition on Yemen, saying it pushes civilians into starvation and can amount to torture. In a report, the World Organization Against Torture has highlighted the ordeal of Yemeni civilians. It says tens of thousands die due to malnutrition and lack of access to healthcare, becoming the direct victims of a combination of war crimes. The report says the Saudi-led blockade is threatening to plunge Yemen into famine. And, that’s in violation of international norms, including the UN Convention against Torture. Riyadh, along with some of its regional allies launched a war on Yemen back in 2015 to re-instate a friendly regime there. Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have been killed and millions displaced. The World Food Program recently estimated that one out of three Yemenis, which amounts to 19 million, are food insecure. Some three and a half million others are acutely malnourished.

Decrying EU Russia sanctions

Hungary denounces European Union's massive sanctions on Russia. The country’s top diplomat says the punitive measures cause great harm to Europe.  Peter Szijjarto argues that the sanctions policy of the EU has proven to be extremely painful to Europe. He says inflation is skyrocketing and energy prices are soaring. Inflation in the euro area hit a new record high of 9.1% in August. Higher energy prices are the main factor behind these high inflation levels. Europe’s economy is heavily reliant on Russian energy, particularly gas. Moscow has largely reduced gas deliveries, blaming technical issues created by Western sanctions over the war in Ukraine. European officials blame Russia for using energy as a weapon.
