Nuclear weapons disarmament failure

Iran has once again raised alarm bells over Israel’s nuclear stockpile, saying that it must destroy its nuclear weapons. Tehran also has voiced ‘deep concern’ over lack of progress in implementation of nuclear disarmament obligations, criticizing the UN over the lack of progress for the 2010 action plan on the Middle East free of nuclear weapons.

Why would the UN ignore this and focus on the nuclear risk posed by the Ukraine conflict which involves nuclear powers the US and Russia?

Why there has been acceleration towards nuclear weapons as a whole, especially by the US?

These are the questions discussed in this edition of the Spotlight with panelists Gilbert Doctorow independent international affairs analyst from Brussels and Daniel Kovalik professor of international human rights from Pittsburgh, PA.
