Tasua and Ashura in Iran
Chest-beating to the sound of drums is a familiar sound early each Muharram. It goes on till Tasua and Ashura, the 9th and 10th days of the lunar month, when Imam Hussain was ruthlessly beheaded during his mission to Karbala.
Thats in Iran and Shia Muslim areas mourning this third grandson of the Prophet Mohammad, named Master of Martyrs. The incident fell on Aug 7 and 8 this year.
